Presentations Photos Workshop Report

NOVEMBER 18 - 20, 2019

        Brazil | Brasilia-DF

The venue will be held in the auditorium Thiers Fattori Costa of Clesio Andrade Building, located at
SAUS Quadra 1, Bloco J – Asa Sul, Zip Code: 70070-944, Brasilia – DF, Brazil.
The Brazilian National Confederation of Transport – CNT and the National Apprenticeship Service of Transport – SENAT, concerned about the impact of transport activity on the environmental, social and economic levels, signed, together with NRCan (Ministry of Natural Resources of Canada) and the ICCT (International Council on Clean Transportation), a Technical Cooperation Agreement to offer internationally certified courses aimed at promoting energy efficiency within the Brazilian cargo and passenger road transportation sector. The development of the courses triggered reflections and the planning of this workshop, given the necessary exchange of experiences and knowledge required in working with a challenging theme as energy efficiency. These organizations are being joined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to support the development and expansion of these efforts and to make this International Workshop a reality.

Objectives

To facilitate discussion and exchange of knowledge about the trends of Green Freight Programs, globally and regionally, focusing on how to support the implementation of best practices on energy efficiency such as Clean Technologies Verification, Driver Training and Capacity Building in order to help freight carriers and companies to cut costs, reduce fuel consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants, and benefit the environment and societal well-being.

Audience

This workshop brings together freight industry representatives, government, academia, financing institutions, technical cooperation agencies, and nonprofit organizations to identify solutions aimed at developing and implementing Green Freight programs throughout Latin America and the Caribbean advance freight environmental performance.
